Very polite staff & nice room. Good english breakfast
Heating was turned off at night, and the room was freezing.
Pleasant hotel with excellent staff. The rooms are basic but what you get is what you pay for.
The shower were very poor and needs upgrading as soon as possible
We had a comfortable, good sized room, and the breakfast was excellent.
The bar and eating area were very good and the steak and wine del was the best we have had, 2 8oz ribeye steaks and a bottle of wine for £25.00 Presentation was excellent
Bedroom a little tred but nonetheless clean.
Very friendly and helpful staff & great warm comfortable bar with excellent food also free wifi
The room was a little chilly in the night
The Staff were excellent. The food and Ambience were excellent too.
Location is very quiet but that can be a plus too.
evening dinner was nice and starff were friendly
rooms very old, cobwebs everywhere, window dirty, bathroom light not working, bath rusty !
It is a dog-friendly hotel (we took our Jack Russell), the staff were very helpful, they went out of their way to help us. Also the local people using the bar area were friendly.
The room, though very clean, was a bit shabby. I understand they have more updated rooms available.
Tv not working. No food available on Sunday evening. Very run down and needs a re- fit
I booked this hotel for a surprise birthday present for my husband, we received a really warm welcome from the young man behind the bar, he asked me when I was going to tell my husband that we were staying then he brought the key for our room. There is a very friendly atmosphere throughout the Hotel and the service at dinner was great, our daughter and Fianc'e joined us for dinner as a surprise and we all agreed the food was lovely, we enjoyed a lovely relaxing night. The room was large and very clean with a view over the river and breakfast was really nice. We would definately go again.
There was nothing to dislike about this Hotel and for the price we paid worth every penny. We have stayed in many designer Hotels but in doing so the price goes higher. Could not fault this Hotel for the price.
Fantastic staff very willing and happy to help, pub food excellent.
No Negatives very nice hotels would stay there again.
Staff friendly but some inexperienced
Very nice room and excellent value for money given other hotels charging much more for rooms due to Great North Run. Nice breakfast.
Hotel was very busy on arrival and check in was rushed. Early breakfast was offered but not communicated to breakfast staff so were quite delayed as had to go in to kitchen to find someone who then had to phone someone to get them out of bed to deal with us. Was very nice when he arrived and apologised for mix up.
staff were very friendly, food was excellent of very high standard and good value for money. have rebooked for a second week stay.
The bedroom was large, clean and quiet. Great views across surrounding counntryside.
The breakfast. Limited fare, and I had to ask for butter. I didn't try the full English. Only one person on duty, divided between the dining area and reception.
